This Artist Has Been Making Amazing Glass Sculptures Since He Was 15
Glass isn‘t the easiest of materials to work with, but this doesn’t deter artists like Simone Crestani, who started working with glass when he was only 15 years old after observing Venetian Murano glass craftsmen. He uses flameworking, a technique that uses a strong flame to melt and sculpt glass. His preferred subjects are nature and animals.
“I have always admired with wonder and respect the nature, I believe that it is the greatest expression of beauty, that kind of beauty that satisfies the senses, that kind of beauty that only art can approach.” the young artist writes on his website.
And indeed, the elegant shapes of the trees and octopi that he sculpts are quite stunning.
