This Artist Makes Animal Sculptures From Wool, Here Are Her 10 Best Works
Japanese artist Terumi Ohta, hailing from Hokkaido, has garnered global admiration for her exceptional felt creations inspired by a love for animals. Starting her felting journey 15 years ago, Ohta, a self-taught artist, uses mainly wool and occasional clay, producing realistic and detailed pieces, including a 180cm tall white elephant.
Despite a six-year commission backlog, Ohta is committed to teaching and plans to launch an online course with English subtitles. Her sought-after pet models reflect her desire to capture the soul and expressiveness of animals, going beyond mere physical accuracy in her art.
