Cinemagraphs: Moving Photographs by Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg (Part I)
Have you ever seen a photo move? Two creative artists – a photographer Jamie Beck and a motion graphics designer Kevin Burg have created a new way of capturing images – pictures with movement, so-called cinemagraphs. They describe it as: “Something more than a photo, but less than a video”. However, creating a cinemagraph is not as simple as it may look. Some of them took entire day to make, but the results are breathtaking!
Got wisdom to pour?
So, Whats the difference between a GIF & Cinemagraph?
should be called ‘harry potter photos”
I love the one with the man & newspaper, just makes me giggle for some reason.

Words escape me… Very creative….to say the Very least…WOW!
Imagine a Vogue cover with these… Of course the cover has to be one of those paper-thin flexible oled displays like sony made. it would be like a harry potter newspaper, but in color…
the pretentious gif.
it bothers me that some people think this somehow elevates the animated gif to high art. don’t get me wrong, some of these are cool, but people act like “cinemagraphs” are a new concept.
i’m speaking generally, of course. keep up the great work, demilked!
whereas animated gif is an old thing, using it to animate only certain parts of the picture (while leaving the feeling that it’s still a photograph) is probably a relatively new thing, and it’s not the same as converting .avi to .gif. which would still be a video.
