20 Times Companies Pointlessly Packaged A Product In Plastic
Even though the world already has a huge plastic waste problem, companies still keep using plastic in an almost excessive way despite the issue. From the much-derided disposable cups and straws to packaging such as toothpaste and sanitiser bottles, the endless production of plastic just doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
One Instagram account has decided to publicly call out the most Pointless Packaging and seeing some of the below images reminds you of the shocking carelessness displayed by too many corporations. It’s high time to be more sustainable going forward and minimise such heedless and unnecessary waste as evidenced below.

Got wisdom to pour?
I don’t agree with this assessment on Nutella because the large plastic container can be reused to store flour or sugar once their bags are opened. Everything else though… Yikes!
I agree, although the Del Monte banana packaging assessment is smart, because the plastic can avoid the banana to turn overripe or stop it from being forgotten and be squished under everything, the plastic can remind Del Monte workers that atleast SOMETHING is there.
I bet most of these photos were taken during the pandemic (you can even see a few days that show that) so it isn’t pointless, it was for health and sanitary reasons. Context matters.
