Photographer Captures Photos Of Signature Dishes Of Grandmas From Around The World (20 Pics)

Published 2 years ago

Italian photographer, Gabriele Galimberti was about to embark on a trip around the world. However, just before he left, his beloved Tuscan grandmother, Marisa, lovingly cooked him his favourite dish of ravioli as a parting gift.

This inspired Gabriele to seek out grandmothers around the world and discover their signature dishes. During his travels to over 60 countries, he met over 100 grandmas, cooked and ate with them and documented everything through photography. He used the captured images to publish the book “In Her Kitchen” in 2014 showcasing the loving grandmas and their amazing preparations. His goal being to pay homage to the amazing grandmas that teach us the importance of love and tradition through the international language of food and family.

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
