Artist Transforms Boring And Abandoned Sites By Painting 3D Murals (15 Pics)

Published 2 years ago

Scaf, a self-taught French artist, has been creating buzz all over the internet for his incredibly hyperrealistic 3d murals. His amazing artworks look like they’re just about to leap at you off of the walls!

The artist started painting in 2003 and for the first 10 years, he delved into wall decoration as a career, then he specialized for 6.7 years in 3d art form. In an interview with DeMilked, Scaf says, “I love the 3d side to be able to immerse myself in my painting like a cartoon scene. I am passionate about the world of video games, 90s films and comics, here is my daily universe. I wanted to transmit it in my paintings simply as a child’s dream.”

Talking about his creative process, the artist reveals, “My painting process is already to locate the wall after I try to imagine what would be best to paint, what trompe l’oeil effect or illusion could best suit. Sometimes I keep walls unpainted for years before finding the right idea. Sometimes it’s not the right idea but sometimes yes lol.”

Check out some of his impressive 3d murals in the gallery below. And if you wish to buy prints of the same, visit his shop here.
