Self-taught Californian glass artist Loren Stump is particularly known for his mind-blowing glassworks called murine. These impressive artworks are made by melting rods of coloured glass together in particular patterns, forming something that eventually looks like a loaf of bread. These “loaves” of melted glasswork are then sliced just like bread, revealing intricate two-dimensional images that could not be seen otherwise.
