10 Beautiful Pixelated Sculptures Made With Wood, Created By Han Hsu-Tung
Han Hsu-Tung, an artist based in Taiwan, creates mind-blowing wood sculptures that appear pixelated. Although the artist has been engaged in woodcarving for 35 years now, he started focusing on making pixelated wood sculptures in 2010.
The wooden figures and animals in Han’s works appear like they are dissolving into pixels, and they all look absolutely mesmerizing. The artist tells DeMilked, “Because human beings are now increasingly influenced by digital technology, I hope to express that influence through wood sculpture. So I try to use wood blocks to simulate the image on the computer screen, which was very attractive to me.”
Hans also reveals, “The creation process of this form of woodwork is very complicated and requires precision, and they always take a lot of time to work on it, but I hope l can finally find a new expression form of woodcarving.”
