20 Things That Gen Z No Longer Recognizes, Shared By Millennials
With modern technology advancing at such a rapid pace, it can be hard to keep up – and I’m not just talking about smartphones and gaming consoles. Turns out that a lot of the things that we couldn’t image our youth without now seem almost alien to the current generation – and oh boy does it make you feel old.
Millennials are sharing the things that Gen Z no longer recognizes, and it’s a little mind-boggling to see how much a generation can change in just a few years. From manual car windows to the lost art of CD burning, check out all of the things that the current generation barely recognizes anymore in the gallery below!

Got wisdom to pour?
I was born in 2004 and I knew what all of these were except for maybe three .-.
So… not all.
Hey you remember going to the movie theater and watching hunger games
It’s kind of silly to Throw these generation Labels xy abc around Willy-nilly ..like you do know depending on ranges the oldest z can be born like around 95. That’s a big difference from like #16 a 6 year old. Lol how can you know these tweets are from millennials too because # 7 be looking 70 lol
It’s hysterical to hear 30 and 40 year olds waxing nostalgic about the times of their childhood. These are the same people who grimaced when their parents talked about how times have changed since THEIR childhoods.
These memes have been stolen from gen x. But we don’t care if millennials want to pretend.
I was born in 2003.
I know all of these. I watched VHS tapes of Dora. I had a computer that hummed and beeped when the internet was fussy. C’mon now. My dad would burn discs and I’d watch. I used the “e” to play on Cool math at Grandma’s. Geez.
I’m part of Gen Z (born in 2000) and I recognized and understood all of these. There’s no need to make fun of an entire generation just because a few kids don’t know what a VHS tape is. A lot of kids nowadays don’t know what these things are because a lot of them are outdated and obsolete now. If older generations can call my generation stupid based off of a few kids who clearly didn’t have older siblings, then I can call older generations entitled, lazy, and bad role models based off a few folks
No one is trying to suggest how “stupid” YOU are, we’re just recognizing how We
No one is trying to suggest how “stupid” YOU are, we’re just recognizing how old WE are. See Gen Z, it’s not always about you.
I’m a gen z and I knew all of these things. Don’t blame us for not knowing this. I honestly it’s up to the parents to teach us about these things personally, like obviously a 6 year old won’t know these things. You have to realize, school doesn’t teach us every single object in history. Parents should educate their own kids about these to inform about their generation which gives them knowledge and also good for bonding with the kids
Calm down, it’s not that serious. Why would you need to decide to teach kids about how phone worked before or what is a discman. You just run into these topics.
I’m a gen z and knew all these things.
Born 2001
