This Photographer Creates Breathtaking “Bodyscapes” Using Only The Human Body (13 Pics)

Published 4 years ago

Carl Warner is a photographer, conceptual artist, and food lover who often creates intricate landscapes using unorthodox things, like food, furniture, and clothes. And in one of his projects, titled Bodyscapes, he decided to take it a step further and used actual human bodies!

The artist states that initially, he went to college to become an illustrator but found that photography was a “much faster medium to work in.” Carl says that he has a passion for creating images using the things most people wouldn’t take a second look at and that he loves finding beauty in the mundane and the banal. “In creating landscapes from the contents of my fridge or building cities from sea shells or car parts, I am more of a photographic illustrator who creates something from nothing, transforming one thing into another by simply composing and lighting,” says the photographer.

In his Bodyscapes project, Carl used the human body to create mesmerizing and otherworldly landscapes. Even though he sketched out the compositions before the photoshoots, upon picking up the camera he noticed various new shapes appearing and incorporated them into his photos. To make the landscapes appear more realistic, the photographer used both tungsten and flash lighting equipment – and the end result turned out absolutely breathtaking.

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
