This Dad Turned An Old Living Room Into An Amazing Playroom For His 3-Year-Old Son
British man Carl Raine recently purchased a house in desperate need of some touching up. One of the top priorities on the list was renovating the living room and instead of simply painting the walls, buying a new couch and calling it a day, the man decided to do something different. He transformed the soulless old living room into an incredible playroom for his 3-year-old son Oakley and it’s every child’s dream come true. Carl then shared the before and after pics to a Facebook group called DIY On A Budget and people couldn’t get enough of it.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Carl said he wanted to keep as much of the floor space free as possible. This was the starting block for his design. “It made me use the space around the room and by creating two levels, it has just made the absolute most of the space to keep the floor free,” said the man.

“So the features I’ve added are all things that I have picked up along the journey of being his dad, what he likes and also what I know will push him to hopefully naturally better himself and help him along his path,” said Carl. “Simple things like the slide, ball pit, and steps are all there to help him be active but [there also are] tunnels to allow him to separate himself from the lights if [they become] too much for him.”

The dad even included fun and simple mechanical things like an abacus and a velcro board to train Oakley’s motor skills.

The dad revealed that he spent around £800 ($1,037) on the project as he did a lot of the work himself. Oakley seems to love having his own personal playroom and Carl says he doesn’t come out of it!
