Someone Noticed This White House Chef Looks Like A Bodybuilder And Even Started A Photoshop Battle

Recently, a seemingly innocent post about an event happening at the White House caused quite a storm on Twitter – and no, it wasn’t another one of Trump’s ridiculous tweets. White House reported Vivian Salama uploaded a photo of chefs preparing food for a Ramadan dinner happening in the White House and Twitter users quickly noticed something about one of the chefs – their massive 24-inch biceps.

The chef in question is named Andre Rush and is a freelance White House chef who prepares the First Family’s meals. Rush is not only a badass cook trained in plating, baking, cake decoration, and ice carving – he is also a retired Army Master Sergeant Chef.

Chef Rush is one of the top chefs in the US military, having competed in countless competitions with the United States Culinary Arts Team and winning 150 medals and trophies.

His bodybuilder-like appearance instantly caught the eyes of people

Chef Rush works hard to raise awareness of the problems military veterans face. “Rush does 2,222 push ups every weekday as a part of the #22PushupChallenge to raise awareness of the estimated 22 military veterans who die from suicide every day,” writes Men’s Health. “He does up to 200 push-ups at a time, with a three to 10 minute break in between each set.”

On his personal page, Chef Rush says he holds a degree in Business Management from TUI, an Associates degree from Culinary Stafford University, and an Associates degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Central Texas. And it doesn’t end just there – he is also certified in Household/Estate Management, completed a Sommelier Course, and is a Certified Ice Carver.

Rush is also an advocate for various veteran programs, like Wounded Warriors. Along with Veteran Army Food Specialist Charles Johnson, he created a project called “Combat Food Medic LLC” that helps veterans deal with PTSD through food. “We noticed how much the VA likes to push medication on us and our veterans without even getting to know why we have certain ailments,” say the creators of the project. “We both have done personal studies on how food can be used as medicine, and we all now see food as a healing conduit for our body, mind, and soul.”

Rush has experienced PTSD himself and understands how cooking can be used as a form of therapy. “I didn’t realize cooking was my therapy until I actually realized cooking was my therapy,” told the chef in an interview with Reboot Camp. “I would just do it on a normal basis, and when I was feeling down or depressed or off my game sometimes, I would just go in the kitchen, pull out stuff and I would just start cooking. I would cook, and I would cook, and I sometimes would make a six-course meal without even realizing it.”

In the near future, Rush will have his own TV show called “Chef in the City”, where he will visit restaurants, first responder units, and children’s hospitals across the US.
