Nyankichi Rojiupa is a Japanese photographer who has recently encountered a group of funny cats chilling out near some drain pipe holes on the street. It turned out that the cats were more than happy to pose for the camera, resulting in the cutest whack-a-mole photoshoot you’ve ever seen!

In an interview with Bored Panda, the photographer said managed to befriend the cats and gain their trust to the point where they even allow him to play together.

Ever since Nyankichi’s photos started going viral, people started getting concerned about the cats’ safety, saying they might attract people who might want to hurt the furballs. But the photographer assured them that there’s no need to worry: “The cats live on private, protected property,” said Nyankichi.
