This Dad Made His Premature Baby Do Manly Things, And It’s Hilarious
When Matt Mac’s son was born 9 weeks premature, he weighed just under 3 lbs and had to spend 6 weeks in a neonatal intensive care unit. When his daughter was born over 2 years ago, he had photoshopped her playing sports as an infant and he instantly knew he wanted to try something similar with his newborn baby boy. And that’s when the idea for creating a ‘manly’ photoshoot for his baby Ryan came to mind.
In an interview with Bored Panda, Matt says he made the props and chose the outfits himself and each shoot took him about 15 – 20 minutes. Of course, his wife was always there to help him: “My wife often helped out by holding him so I could put his hands/arms/legs in certain positions, holding things.” After he is done taking the pictures of Ryan, he then takes some shots of the things that the baby couldn’t hold, like the axe or the fish on the fishing line. He then chooses the best pictures and combines them all in Photoshop.
“People seemed to love the photos – there was a lot of disappointment when the series came to an end,” says Matt. “Most people found them funny but there were always a few people that feared for Ryan’s safety. I always explained how the “danger” all came from photoshop and he was always being held and was never in any harm. I’m curious to see what Ryan thinks of them 18 years from now when he’s actually grown up.”
