Prada Releases Paperclip That Costs $185, Internet Reacts
Have $185 in spare cash laying around your house and nowhere to spend it? Well, we’ve got some fantastic news for you, because Italian fashion house Prada just started selling a silver sterling paper clip for that exact amount of money.
Yes, not your photocopied documents or something else you need to be clipped – but dollar bills, yo. Because, you know, with the amount of money most of us carry, it’s difficult to hold it all in one place.
Anyway, Prada is just one of many well-established brands to buy into recent trends of selling people crap they don’t really need for an enormous price.
Unfortunately, people on Twitter didn’t take the news about the $185 paper clip well. “$185 for a paperclip? This thing better be able to hold my life together,” a Twitter user named Freddy Amazin wrote.

Another example would be Balenciaga’s $2,145 tote bags that look just like IKEA’s 99 cent ones, or Nordstrom’s $85 rock wrapped in leather, that is just that – a rock inside a piece of leather.
