Russians Dumped Vodka Bottles Into Sea And Nature Turned Them Into Glass Pebbles
Back in the times of Soviet Union, the ideas of nature conservation simply weren’t a thing. So it was decided to use the Ussuri Bay simply as a dump for old glass bottles and porcelain. Yet nature likes to keep things tidy, so she returned the trash in the form of millions of colorful pebbles.
Back in the day, tons of broken beer, wine and vodka bottles have turned the bay into a no-go zone. But decades later it’s become a tourist destination and a specially protected area now called the Glass Beach. (h/t)
