The 2014 iPhone Photography Awards Prove That The Camera Does Not Make The Photographer
It’s no secret that you can take high-quality photos using your smart phone camera, but we sometimes forget just how stunning they can be! Some photographers even spend their careers using only their mobile phone devices, proving that it’s not the camera that makes a good photographer. Started back in 2007, the iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) became the first and one of the biggest niches for smartphone photographers to get recognition and appreciation for their work.
Every year, the IPPAWARDS receive thousands of entries from photographers around the world in seventeen categories. All of the photographs must be taken with an iPhone, iPod or iPad and cannot be altered with desktop software, only with device-based apps. This year’s winners have been announced, so here’s handful of their most amazing shots. Get inspired!

Got wisdom to pour?
Great photos for sure when displayed on a monitor at 72dpi. When viewed at 100 percent the smartphone image won’t hold up. Damn shame if these images weren’t captured in high res RAW format on a real camera.
Thrilled to be among the winners (3rd place Children). Thanks for publishing and congrats to all winners!
“The Camera Does Not Make The Photographer” – of course camera does not, it is Photoshop that does :)
btw. great photos.
A cynic me thinks!
These are absolutely stunning! This is why I love this website: it shows the amount of creativity and talent people have and how much beauty there is in the world! I come here to get away from the politics, issues, annoyances, etc. for a while (without avoiding them, of course) and just enjoy what people have fabricated out of their own God-given abilities. :)
