1961 VW Beetle Gets Turned Into A Stylish Black Matte Roadster By Designer Danni Koldal
Over the years, the Volkswagen Beetle, officially called the Type 1, has become somewhat of an icon in the automotive industry. Its distinctive shape is recognized by people all over the globe and you can still spot these cars used daily almost anywhere you go. The beetle has also become quite a popular platform for tuners and we’ve seen countless of impressive builds over the years. However, a build by designer Danni Koldal caught everyone’s eye – the man transformed a 1961 Volkswagen Beetle Deluxe into an incredible matte black roadster and we simply can’t get enough of it.

To achieve this sleek and minimalistic look, the little car underwent quite a few changes – the front window was chopped and the whole roof was completely removed, making it a permanent cabrio. The car was also fitted with wider wheels and period-correct whitewall tires.

Danni also removed the chrome bumpers, opted for sleeker ‘torpedo’ side mirrors, and painted the exterior matte black.
The car went from something your great-grandfather would drive to a proper hot rod

Since the roof was completely chopped off, the Beetle is now a strictly good weather car

Even though the car is almost 60 years old, you can still blast some funky tunes while cruising around.
Among the many modifications made was saying good-bye to the roof and taking out the fender turn signals
