Four Girls Capture Famous Movie Locations In Real Life
When a movie isn’t filmed entirely on greenscreen, fans get to visit the same places their favorite characters did. And none are more dedicated than the Finnish ladies of Fangirl Quest. Their project is about “sceneframing”: taking a still shot of a movie, displaying it on an iPad and taking a picture of it with the original filming location in the background. The result is a tiny window in the real world opening to the universe of movies and TV series.
Fangirl Quest is mainly run by Tiia Öhman and Satu Walden while geek and organizational parts are covered by Johanna Ruuskanen and Essi Suomela. It all started with a 2013 trip to England, traveling 2000 miles, visiting loads of filming locations and bringing over 5000 pictures. The Internet audience was extremely appreciative of their work, so they continued on, even visiting the USA.
Unfortunately, visiting Babylon 5 seems out of their reach, for now.
